Learning happens everywhere at Covenant Day School’s high school building, reflecting the belief that no two students learn in the same way.

The goal of this learning environment is to recognize and transform student life, activity, and achievement with a facility that supports 21st-century learning, social and emotional learning (SEL), and human wellness. The design for the high school focuses on a variety of spaces that allow for individual learning, team and project-based learning, and places for presentations, project introductions, or distance learning.

PROJECT GOAL

Preparing students for a rapidly changing world.

To accommodate continued growth and the evolution of its curriculum and teaching methods, Covenant Day School needed a high school building that supports a modern learning environment.

SOLUTION

An Immersive Learningscape concept was implemented, where collaboration, problem-based, and technology-infused learning opportunities are facilitated through an innovative learning environment.

Diverse spaces for learning

Little designed the new high school with a range of spaces that support growth and education, including traditional classrooms, interdisciplinary areas, individual and team-based learning spaces, presentation areas, and hands-on exploration zones for science and innovation.

Maker spaces provide hands-on learning for science exploration and creative innovation. The state-of-the-art media center has become a hub for research and collaborative teamwork.

A student-centered focus

Space for student services has been intentionally planned to provide tutoring, club meetings, and social space for students to connect with staff one-on-one. A dedicated student center encourages student ownership and activity throughout the school day, including study, socializing, relaxation, and nutrition.

“The excellent way of Little is to be professionally prepared every step of the way, professionally engaged to ensure confidence from the owner, and professionally committed to every task at hand, no matter what is encountered throughout the project.”
